Welcome to eNCDine!

Latest research shows that NCD changes churches in a very effective way: we see a strong increase in quality as well as in the growth of those churches doing NCD for 3 or more years. The figures are very encouraging, and we will give you details in one of the next issues of eNCDine.

However, there is also a tendency within a certain group of churches to misuse NCD as "church cosmetics". No deep analysis of root causes for the minimum factor; no long-term process working on the quality of the church.

In this issue of eNCDine, we want to deal with this challenge - in "Radical Therapy or Church Cosmetics?" and in "NCD as a Long-term Process". Thanks to Ian Campbell from NCD Australia whose article is based on a presentation held during the NCD World Summit last October.

Every blessing for your ministry,

Radical Therapy or Church Cosmetics?

When NCD started in the USA a couple of years ago, I was involved in training the first generation of NCD coaches. I remember that the night before, we had dinner with Dave Wetzler, our NCD Partner, at a restaurant, and I asked him if he had already received any feedback from the first churches using NCD. His answer was, "Not much, but there was one negative feedback."  ―> more...

NCD UPDATE - Ian Campbell

NCD - a Long Term Process (Part 1)

If you are a leader who wants to see lasting, sustainable, healthy growth in your church, you cannot approach NCD without taking a long term view. The process of applying NCD principles effectively takes time. Process may be the wrong word. It is a fulfilling, satisfying and enjoyable journey of partnering with God to grow your church (and yourself) to maturity. Leaders already on this journey would say only one thing: "Get on board and don't miss out."   ―> more...

Profile Plus: Biotic or Technocratic?

In the international NCD movement there is an appropriate aversion to models and technocratic approaches. After all, the NCD principle-oriented approach is proving itself to be far superior to other alternatives. So, does the Profile Plus detailed analysis substantially enhance the principle-oriented approach or return us to the "bad old days" of models and prescriptive answers?  ―> more...

Church Planting That Works

"Leadership should be born out of the understanding of the needs of those who would be affected by it." – Marian Anderson, American contralto, (1902-1993). Read how a missionary learned to pioneer an effective church planting movement in the north-eastern rural part of Thailand.  ―> more...
